DEVELOPMENT BLOG WEEK 9 (FINAL MAJOR
PROJECT).
PROGRESS MADE FROM LAST WEEK.
This week my development week .Below are
images of the game tiles I created for my game idea THE FLOOR IS LAVA with
colour that are meant to illustrate or rather to give an illusion that the game
occurs in cave setting thus the reason the blocks I created are different shades
of orange as well as shades of grey to replicated cooled down lava and the
orange to replicated active lava.

well as a color wheel with the colors that I used .
Above is what the block looks like on the
game screen.
The above images is the first block or rather game tile by
simply color an already existing grass ground block by replacing the color green
with different colored shades of orange and grey but I didn’t like the end
results because it camouflaged with the background to well , it also was
opposite of what I wanted my game to look like from my mind map and also
because the main action in the game is to avoid lava at all case but The ground
tile on has lava grass which to me didn’t really quite make sense even though it’s
a video game so I created a second game tile .This time I created one that resembled
magma that has cooled down but has bits of lava flowing through it similar to the
two images below of surface flow lava.
This is the block I created of flowlab as
well as how it look on the game screen. I used the following color palettes for
the blocks the color image palettes are
right below.
After this I created game tiles that
represent cooled down lava so that the game doesn’t end up having too much
orange because I plan on creating a lava waterfall as well as the lava mutant
shark as well as the mutant jelly fish, ground lava with will all be orange so created
a few blocks to try and balance out the color orange.
Above are the game blocks that I created as well as how they looked on the game screen some of the game tiles I created I didn’t end up using them because they either blended in to well with the background layer or they just didn’t fit right with the rest of the blocks.
I created a sprite that will act as a wall
that will restrict the player from wandering off. The images above are what the
sprites look like in the game screen.
I also recreated the first sprite I created
it because I didn’t saved it at fist but I then recreated it because I ended up
like the idea of it but this time I wanted it to be brighter than the last one
and the two images above are what the sprites look like and how they look in the
game screen.
I also created a pixel image of a
hydrant on pixel with 3 different shades of red as well as silver for the bolts
I after creating the pixel fire hydrant I then uploaded it as a image to create
a game tile. The image below show how it looks on the game screen.
I also created a pixel art of a fire
fighter.
BREAKTHROUGHS THAT I MADE
I found my lost my lost mind map that was
the first one I ever made for THE PHAROAH VENGENCE game idea it turns out that because
io created it on a different device but with the same email it didn’t synchronize
but it was saved on the browser.
This week I learnt how to remove unwanted
text on images or watermarks on images by simply saving the image then opening
the image on photos then use the edit effect to remove the text which is way
more better than using the erase tool in paint because at time if you have a
white background the and black text the eraser will simply colour with a whiter
shade rather than erasing which could mess up the image.

ANYTHING I FOUND HARD
Anytime I would clone a tile a message with the words connection error
would show up although nothing was wrong with the connection.
.l also had
trouble getting the flowlab to load on my browser because when I tried to log
in it wouldn’t load no matter the amount of times I would close the chrome tab
and try opening it up again .

I struggled with creating a walking
animation of the fireman because every time I kept drawing the legs on piskel
the image looked really weird or I would draw one leg perfectly but l would
then mess up the song one then the animation will be a tiny bit off.
PLANS FOR NEXT WEEK.
Next week I plan on creating the monster
animation of the mutant shark , mutant jelly fish , mutant turtle as well as
creating the animation for the main characters movements like the running part
as well as taking a video of demo video of the game being played. As well as
appointing game animations.
I also plan creating another background
that isn’t as bright as the l have currently as well adding sound effect of the
rewards in the game as well .
