Development blog week 5. 

 

What did I do this week? 

 

Following my giant this week is my third week in my pre-production .This week l got several peer reviews on which of the three website ideas that people liked ; during the peer reviews I received mixed feedback on which of the three ideas would work best. Some respondents criticized the neon green, saying it was too bright and overpowering. However, a few respondents liked the neon green in my second idea, as it was paired with darker colors that reduced its intensity and made it more visually appealing.  

One reviewer also raised concerns about accessibility, noting that the design might exclude people with eye sensitivity. They suggested using pastel colors to better accommodate a wider range of users. However, as someone with poor vision, I personally find lighter colors difficult to see and brighter color easier to see and it also make it easier to capture peoples attention .  

Regarding my third idea, which featured a blue website, several respondents mentioned that the use of blue felt overwhelming but it fit my job board idea more compared to my other ideas . 

Taking to account the peer reviews that L received l made my neon and black website ideas’s employers page to be less bright and closer to a pastel color by simply change the original website that l created on Canva and adjusting the bright neon color to be a less brighter color .(SEE IMAGES BELOW OF THE CHANGED EMPLOYER PAGE). 

I also created a flyer using Canva assets and downloading images of Pinterest and using an AI background remover to remove the background and then just using the images with no background my inspiration was a newspaper article so l designed the flyer to be similar to a newspaper article page.(SEE IMAGES BELOW OF THE FLYER I CREATED ON CANVA).

Breakthroughs that I made?   

I didn't make any breakthroughs this week. 

 

Problems l faced this week ? 

My sign-up page at one point didn't show up at all but when I saved the code and refreshed the webpage it showed up but the code was on top of the screen also had trouble getting mysql on xampp to stay running cause it would run for a few seconds and then it would stop but l  easily fixed that by rechanging the configure Apache web server’s port back to 80 because initially it was 3330 l used chat gbt to help me solve this problem as still unfamiliar with using php or xampp. 

 

Plans for next week? 

Next week l plan on getting my login/sign up page fully running and also adding the css and html .l also plan on creating the webpages such as the home page , about page and the employer page using html and css.
